1. Collection and processing of personal data

As a general rule, we only collect and use personal data to the extent that this is necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services.

We primarily process the personal data that we receive from these and other people involved in our work with donors, customers and other business partners or that we collect from their users when operating our website. We use personal data to make donations and legacies, to set up personal fundraising campaigns, to answer your questions, to operate and improve our website and to provide further information about the work and use of donations from the Menschen für Menschen Foundation .

In principle, you can access our website without having to provide any personal information. Only non-personal usage data such as your IP address, the pages visited, the browser used, date, time, etc. are evaluated anonymously to improve our website. No conclusions will be drawn about you personally.

If you support us with a donation, subscribe to our electronic newsletter or provide your personal data by email, telephone or post, we will use your personal data exclusively to inform you about our projects and the use of your donations as well as other updates. If you do not want this, we will adapt to your wishes at any time and change your contact details, reduce the frequency and method of delivery or block your address so that you do not receive any further mailings.

If you have given us your consent to process your personal data for specific purposes (e.g. when you registered to receive newsletters), we will process your personal data within the framework and based on this consent, unless we have another legal basis and we need one. Consent given can be revoked at any time, but this has no effect on data processing that has already taken place.

We only retain personal data for as long as it is necessary for the respective purpose and/or is necessary due to legal proof and retention obligations as well as regulatory requirements.

The protection of your personal data is very important to us and is therefore the duty of all employees of Menschen für Menschen. The foundation does not trade in addresses, does not rent, sell or exchange personal data and complies with the applicable data protection regulations of Switzerland (DSG), the EU (GDPR) and the requirements of ZEWO.
