Bizuye was desperate: Her son Makbel was two and a half and couldn't walk yet. Thanks to Menschen für Menschen, he received help – and she received an education. Today, Bizuye works as a kindergarten teacher, and her son is healthy and happy.

Mintamir endured much to support her mother and siblings. Human traffickers exploited her. Now she is learning how to feed her children herself – and for the first time, she is looking to the future with hope.

At thirteen, Aster hauled cement to construction sites; later, she toiled as a domestic worker in Lebanon. Today, in her native Ethiopia, she is about to complete her training as a domestic manager – and believes in herself again.
